Deal to allow exclusive international rights to Walnut
DHI Global signs International Master Franchise Agreement with Walnut Heathcare, a group company of Mr Raaja Kanwar of India’s Apollo Group
London – July 25, 2013 – DHI Global, a worldwide leader in the hair restoration industry, announced today that it had signed an agreement with Walnut Healthcare, a group company of Mr Raaja Kanwar of Apollo Group, a $6.6Bn group head quartered in India, having diversified businesses across the globe. This agreement grants exclusive rights to Walnut to expand DHI franchise internationally, more particularly across Asia, Africa and South America.
DHI Global had granted a Master Franchise for India to another group company of Mr Kanwar in 2010, which is majority owned and operated by his wife, Mrs Kamayani Kanwar. Under the joint leadership of Mrs Kamayani Kanwar, DHI has successfully grown to 17 clinics across India in less than 3 years, making DHI the leading hair restoration service provider in India. Buoyed by the success of DHI in India, Mr Kanwar has decided to take the international rights to expand DHI.
The international franchise agreement is intended to take the successful DHI franchise to all parts of the world, making DHI the only global hair restoration company with such a vast international presence. Under this agreement, DHI Global will be responsible for innovation and training, supporting the international expansion. Walnut will be responsible primarily for business development and ongoing operations as it takes DHI into new markets using some of its global relationships. Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and Brazil will be some of the first markets to open up under this arrangement.
